A Rally Day provided members with information and opportunities to participate in various mission projects. Five membership classes were held during the year; however, inactive members caused continuing concern. The liturgical arts sub-committee was formed and the Sweet Room annex was utilized as a nursery while the east wing was remodeled.

Mike Carrier left Shepherd of the Hills in 1993 to head another church in the metropolitan area, and John Bratt, retired pastor at First church, Lakewood, became a parish associate. Presbyterian Women held a shower for Bridgeway, a home and education center for pregnant teens and their babies, along with continued support for Jeffco Action Center and other projects.

The Care Center, a new ministry of member care, began in 1993. The first "how-to" manual was authored by Mary Ann Pechman and Ruth Ruff. Trained volunteers staffed the Care Center to coordinate the needs of members who were ill, shut-in, bereaved, or in need of shepherding. Cherub (grades 1-3), Carol (grades 4-6) and Chapel Youth choirs (grades 7-12) were organized, along with Youth Handbells and an Instrumental Ensemble.

Modifications to the physical plant added needed space to the sanctuary, narthex, classrooms, choir room, kitchen, office, and library/lounge. These modifications made the facility fully accessible to all populations. Three Christmas Eve services were held this year.  1994 was the first year for the Administrative Committee, which brought together the functions of property and finance and personnel. It was structured with personnel, stewardship and facilities subcommittees.

The Stephen Ministry program at Shepherd of the Hills was initiated. The program of lay Christian care giving ministry began with its first class of 15 men and women who participated in an initial 50-hour training program. The church dedicated new communion ware created by potter Sarah Rodrian and had its first Hanging of the Greens during the Advent Season, coordinated by the worship committee. Kitty Dobbs coordinated children's ministries and a series of youth ministry directors joined the staff.

A record stewardship drive for 1995 resulted in pledges of $405,000. Thermal pane windows were installed in Charter Hall and the church obtained a late model 15-passenger van.  Suzanne Lindsey was welcomed as associate pastor and Jane Hays retired as parish associate. A new church brochure and photo directory were compiled and 72 individuals joined the congregation. Ash Wednesday services were held in conjunction with Applewood Methodist Church.

A complete inventory of all church items was completed in 1996, with established replacement costs, for insurance purposes. The building loan continued to be paid down and a picnic welcomed new members. Deacons continued to support Jeffco Action Center and Family Tree.
