Reflections . . .

Friends:

Kirby and I feel a warm glow whenever we think about those wonderful three years at Shepherd of the Hills, when, after retirement, I served on the staff as a parish associate.

Kirby and I especially remember our warm experiences with the XYZ group - how Alan asked us to coordinate its activities as it began; and how helpful Ruth Ruff was when the group decided we might venture into travels by bus - journeying to such places as Mount Rushmore and the beautiful parks in Arizona. Kirby also remembers how much she enjoyed being a part of the Chancel Choir, the Bell Choir and Presbyterian Women.

As for me, my fondest recollections include not only that wonderful XYZ group, but also the devoted endeavors of those who worked and studied so diligently in our Bethel Leadership Class; the warm and hospitable spirit of those on whom I made calls at the hospital or in the homes; the inspiration of the worship services. One could go on and on.

Suffice it to say, though, those years at Shepherd of the Hills were wonderful years and we'll never forget them. You were all so good to us! We wish we could be there for the big 40th Anniversary Celebration, and indeed we send our congratulations and commendations on this auspicious occasion.

We'll not be able to come, for the doctor has told Kirby that she should no longer travel to that high an altitude, but indeed our prayers and best wishes are with you.

With love to all,
Harold M. Davis
Parish Associate, 1989-1992
