Centus Counseling and Grief Share: Shepherd of the Hills has partnered with Centus Counseling (previously Samaritan Center) for over three decades to provide mental health counseling for the Lakewood community that integrates mind, body and spirit. Centus recently placed a new counselor, Brad Fabling, at our church. Brad works with children, adolescents, and adults. He also enjoys working with families and couples who desire premarital counseling or assistance with their marriage. With 28 years of active duty service he has a heart for veterans and their families. You can learn more about Brad and Centus Counseling organization at www.centus.org or contact Brad at (720) 432-5034, ext. 10 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Brad will be facilitating a grief group for our congregation and the community starting on February 21st in the afternoon using a program called “Grief Share”, the same program Pastor Barbara used in the grief groups she facilitated in the past. The group is open to anyone who is dealing with some type of loss including loss through death, life transitions and health.
The group will meet at 11am in the Library (instead of 1pm in Sweets Chapel). The multi-week series integrates video, group discussion and student workbooks ($15) to explore group members’ grief. In this participatory venue of sharing one’s own grief, individuals recognize that, though their grief is unique and individual, it has similarities to other’s in the group. Please contact Judy if you are interested in participating or know of someone who might like to attend. Brad will be contacting you within the next couple weeks to discuss the program further and answer any questions you may have.
