Blessing Bags

Friends,

On Sunday, November 23, we will be assembling “blessing bags” after worship in Fellowship Hall. This is something that Shepherd has done on the Sunday before Thanksgiving since COVID passed. But just what are “blessing bags”?

“Blessing bags” are simple, powerful gifts that convey both humanity and hope to struggling, marginalized members of society. By filling bags with essentials, writing encouraging notes, and directly providing them to those in need, caring citizens can uplift their homeless neighbors. Beyond a transaction of goods, these care packages represent compassion in action. Ultimately, “blessing bags” allow each of us to make a difference through basic human kindness.

Those who choose to participate may take a bag or two to hit the streets in areas where homeless populations beg. The remaining bags will be shared with the Action Center. So, plan to assemble at least one bag Sunday morning. Besides, your reward is a piece of pie afterward assembling the bags.

In Christ’s Love,

Pastor Heather
