This past Saturday, over 60 people of all ages joined us on the Field for a morning of good old-fashioned fun at our first Summer Community Carnival! It was exactly what the vision was for this event. We hosted grandparents and grandkids, parents and kids of all ages – little through middle school. They almost all came from the neighborhood walking over or riding their bikes. Our two middle school neighbor boys were there for the full two hours, playing the games, winning prizes that filled their pockets and helped take the games down afterward. It was a great day of sharing our field with the neighborhood, meeting new people, signing kids up for Music Camp and just having fun. A dozen volunteers helped make this happen hosting the games, making popcorn and cotton candy along with our awesome set up & take down crew of the Steffes Family and Shane. We couldn’t have done it without them and appreciate their time, energy and work on Saturday morning. If you missed it, we hope you will join us next summer along with our events in between – Trunk or Treat, Advent Festival and Easter Festival – thanks to Special Events Ministry Team for partnering with Faith Formation Ministry Team on these 4 programs.
July Blessings,
Sandy Safford
