Come Make a Joyful Noise!

As we head into a new season of music at Shepherd of the Hills, we’d love to welcome new voices and ringers to our music ministry! Whether you’ve been singing or ringing for years or haven’t participated since high school (or ever!), there’s a place for you.

Choir rehearsals will begin again on Wednesday, August 19 at 7:15pm in the sanctuary. The choir sings regularly in worship on the first and third Sunday of each month, as well as special Sundays. We will also begin preparing for our Christmas Cantata. No audition is required, just a willingness to sing and learn together.

Handbells are also gearing up for a new season. If you enjoy music, teamwork, and the satisfying ding! of a well-timed chord, come give bells a try. You don’t need previous handbell experience to join us. Handbell rehearsal will begin on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:15pm in the sanctuary. The handbells ring in worship on the second Sunday of each month as well as special Sundays.

Worship Band is always looking for additional musicians. The band is a rotating group, so you don’t have to commit to every Sunday to participate. We’d love to hear from vocalists, guitarists, drummers, bass players, and keyboardists who would like to help lead our congregation in worship. Worship band rehearses on Sunday mornings before the worship service.

Share a Special Musical Gift. Have a song you’d love to share? We’re also looking for soloists, duets, small ensembles, instrumentalists, and other special music offerings for worship. If you have a musical gift you’d like to share during an offertory or special service, let us know! We’d love to find a place for your music in our worship.

If transportation or childcare makes it difficult for you to join a rehearsal, please let us know. Transportation help and childcare are available. We’d love to help remove whatever barriers we can so that more people can share their gifts.

Our music ministry is about more than getting the notes right. It’s a way to build community, offer our gifts, and help create meaningful worship together.
