Greetings From Louisiana

Hello, church family!

I missed worshipping with you all this Sunday, but I’ve been visiting family and having a great time back in Louisiana. Driving from Colorado to Louisiana, one of the things that fascinates me is the slow changing of the environment as you travel. Seeing the beauties of the Rockies fade into the vastness of the high desert. Seeing the desert become greener with trees growing higher and higher as you move east. Feeling the humidity increase as you move ever nearer to the gulf. Small streams become mighty rivers. Prong-horned deers grazing give way to alligators swimming. Seeing the diversity in the flora and fauna through the environments reminds me of how lucky we are to call this planet home, and how our environment shapes who we become. How God set this whole thing into motion, and we get the privilege to care, nurture, and love this planet. In our busy, modern, and polluting culture - always wanting infinite growth from a finite world - may we slow down, enjoy, and remember God is in all places. Continue to nurture and care not just for the planet, but all the environments we call ours as they shape who we become. See you soon!

The Journey of Lent

As we enter this First Week of Lent, I wonder what you are seeking in this sacred season?  The Season of Lent is a time to slow down, push the pause button in our lives, and stop long enough to reset.
