Next week (June 23rd – June 26th) we will be offering Music Camp for kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade.  It has been a bit since we offered a summer ministry for kids at Shepherd of the Hills and we are excited!

Who is the we?

Jen, Michael and I for starters, the rest of the staff, volunteers who have signed up to help, parents of some of our kids AND hopefully all of you!

Why Music Camp and not a traditional VBS?

Great question – VBS takes a lot of planning, and lots of volunteers as many of you know.  It also is offered by a lot of congregations around town.  We wanted to offer something different and new for our families and the community and take advantage of our amazing Music Staff in Jen and Michael, who both love kids and music!   Music Camp looks a lot like VBS with crafts, games and snacks but everything is about music as we create instruments, play music games, enjoy “instrument” snacks along with learning lots of songs, playing instruments and having lots of FUN.

How can I help?

We are still looking for a couple more volunteers (just contact me) and everyone is invited to join us on Thursday, June 26th at 11:30am in the sanctuary as the kids from Music Camp will share the music fun they have experienced with family, friends and the congregation.
